JANESVILLE—A Beloit man was is in custody Monday morning at the Rock County Jail after being arrested Sunday night for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated—his seventh offense, according to Janesville Police Department records.
Carl McAdory, 39, of 1911 Sherman St., Beloit, also was arrested on charges of operating after revocation and resisting/obstructing an officer, according to the arrest report.
Also arrested in conjunction with the incident was Maureen P. Martin, 49, 158 S. Jackson St., No. 2, Janesville, for obstructing and a probation hold. She also was taken to the county jail, the report said.
A Janesville police officer initiated a traffic stop at 10:18 p.m. Sunday after noticing a man standing outside of a vehicle with his arms raised and yelling in a loud voice at the Five Points intersection. When the vehicle finally came to a stop at South Pearl and Drake Street, the driver, McAdory, took off running and later was found inside the garage in the 1200 block of Drake Street, the report said.
Martin, another man and woman were passengers in McAdory’s vehicle.

"These type of people need help-not jail"
Nah. These "types" have multiple felonies dating back decades, property crimes, sex crimes, violent crimes. These "type of people" are habitual criminals, they are likely sociopaths and they need to be locked up for the longest time allowable by law. This is to protect the law abiding citizens from them. Read "this types" criminal history, it speaks for itself.

Help them all you want, just keep them off the streets before they kill an innocent person.

ljs64 - Yes, everyone does make mistakes. But 7 times? Get a grip on reality. This guy needs to be behind bars. (No pun intended.)

This man needs to be held accountable for his actions at some point before he takes the life of an innocent person. I know people don't want to hear this, but, we're all partially at fault that people like this slip through the cracks in todays world. If we had the leaders out there who lived by the the principles of Americanism, there would less of this going on. I'm talking about the principles called..virtue, honor, courage, truth, sincerity and justice! Always remember, those leaders with these qualities are developed in OUR homes! It starts with us.

They may as well give people five, six, ten or thirteen tries at attemted murder before they put them away for twenty years if they're going to let them slide with a lecture from the judge and sixty (or whatever) days in the Huber Dorm.
They perform these drunk driving "crackdowns" and sure, they arrest people. But to what end? What are they going to want first thing after they get released from a two month stint in county jail? A drink.
Do they keep them allocated to light sentences just to keep the District Attorneys Office with something to do? Are they just trying to rack up the number of convictions so they look better come election time?
Jesus Christ..... Take the blinders off. How many people have to die before they impose STIFF sentences for drunk or drug impaired driving?
Build a new facility just to house drunk drivers. Let it be funded by the state so county jails won't be burdened by the cost of drunk driving inmates. I think it would be cost effective to centralize them. Wouldn't that be an innovative approach?
Enough "freebies" for first offenders. Hard time for habituals.

It states a "Janesville man" but list his address as Beloit. Does that mean that Beloit is now a suburb of Janesville?

He's probably a nice guy when he's sober, which might not happen too often. I wonder if the police show people these comments about them? Might help.

Note to self; When driving drunk, don't stop at busy intersetion in town and get out of vehicle and yell and wave arms, it might attract the attention of law enforcement.
