October snow for some of Wisconsin
The National Weather Service says parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin could see a measurable snowfall by Monday.
The Weather Service office in the Twin Cities says the southern half of Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin could see an inch or two by later on Columbus Day. Snow could be a bit heavier along the Minnesota-Iowa border.
Forecaster James McQuirter initially issued a winter storm watch but said it might be downgraded to a weather advisory. But he said it’s important for drivers to switch from summer to winter driving mode.
The weather service has posted a 20 percent chance of light snow in the Rock-Walworth county area between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday.
McQuirter said it’s unusual but not unheard of to see snow accumulate in the first half of October.
