Wisconsin likely to get rain and snow this weekend

MILWAUKEE (AP) — You won't need your snow shovels quite yet, but you might want to start unpacking the winter clothes.

The National Weather Service says temperatures in northern Wisconsin could dip as low as the mid-20s by late Friday night. The rest of the state could get rain or a light dusting of snow by Sunday.

Meteorologist Chris Kuhlman says areas from La Crosse to north-central Wisconsin could see as much as an inch of snow Saturday morning. He says the ground is still warm enough that the snow isn't likely to stick around.

Most Wisconsinites will see rain, snow or both this weekend. Kuhlman says temperatures will be chilly, especially in the south.

On a positive note, he says there's a decent chance this winter will be warmer than average.

I almost fell on my butt this afternoon when I walked out my door. My porch is a tad slick already. Yup, need to get some salt this weekend.

Don't panic!
We will have a lot of beautiful days before the really nasty stuff gets here.
This will just be a pre-season warm up (cool-down?) to what's to come.

Farm and Fleet said they weren't even going to have snow shovels on display for two more weeks. I was ready to buy!
