DETROIT (AP) — The Midwestern Governors Association is holding a Jobs and Energy Forum in Detroit this week.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke is scheduled to address the gathering Tuesday. The group on Wednesday releases details of agreements designed to help attract investment in clean energy and train workers.

Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm says the association is focusing on ways to create jobs across the Midwest in the "new energy economy."

Spokeswoman Liz Boyd said Granholm, who is chairwoman of the association, was staying in Lansing on Tuesday to work on the state budget, but is expected to attend the event on Wednesday.

Granholm and Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle are the only governors from the 11-state association that are expected to attend.
