It's October 9th, there's a hockey game in Janesville tonight.
In fact, it's not just a home game for the much anticipated hockey team that we all got fired up about 6 months ago - it's a game where we're going to honor one of this area's best public sports enthusiasts and writers.
I picked up a paper this morning so I could read about it. I couldn't. With the exception of two ads paid for by local businesses to tribute John, there's not a single word about tonight's game, not even in the standings/schedule page.
Disgusting.

There are plenty of supporters, but hard to stay up on stuff when you have the season start so early and have 4 WEEKS between home games. It's early and the Jets are tinkering with the roster a bit but do not jump ship. Things will pick up.
