EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — An Eau Claire restaurant is scaling back plans to burn Brett Favre memorabilia during Monday night's Packers-Vikings game.

The manager at the Milwaukee Burger Co. says the fire department wasn't pleased about plans to ignite the Favre gear.

The plan was to let patrons toss Favre jerseys, pictures, posters and memorabilia into the burn barrel and watch it all go up in flames.

But Fire Chief Ed Kassing says it would be illegal for the restaurant to burn that much stuff. He also says the health department is concerned about fumes that could be released.

Milwaukee Burger says it'll burn just one Favre jersey and donate everything else to Goodwill.

The restaurant says it will honor its previous plan to donate $10 per item to an unspecified charity.

Too bad they can't trade Favre each year to a different struggling team. I heard once the news of his signing was confirmed, they sold 14,000 Vikings tickets in less than two hours and it went up from there...hotels, restaurants...he's a one man stimulus package. :)

Hey he is fun to watch and if he wants to play why not let him? Even if it is for the ViQueens. I hope Green Bay gets its butt kicked on Monday night. JMO The horns will be blowing and Green Bay will fold ( I Hope) and no I won't bet on any football game as it has come to bite me in the hinder too many time in the past. I have learned my lessons from the past. GO VIKINGS!!

Sounded pretty fun actually. Let them do what they want, they are donating $10 for each item to what I am sure is a good cause. I don't believe you all paid for the items they want to burn. And for you Favre backers, hope he is laid flat on his back more then once on Monday night! He should of retired a looonngg time ago. I am a Packer Fan not a Favre fan, always have been always will be. BURN baby BURN!

The humans will be fine as long as we can maintain control of them. We need to find more uses for them and quickly.

you will not find a better q-back regardless of who Brett plays for. He gave packer fan many great memories and he will always be one of the finest Q-Backs to ever play..........

That is such a childish act! If your parents split up,do you love one less? If your child becomes gay,do you never talk to them again? If your dog pisses on the carpet,do you take-em out back and shoot-em? People that just throw people & things away, are "NOT" people i would want to know. You were never fans of favre,if you do something like this!! GROW UP CHILDREN!

How sad that people feel the need to destroy things because of a football player. What are they...12?? Donate the stuff to me. I'll wear it proudly. :)
