Demand for Wis. no-call list high
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Callers anxious to get their phone numbers on the state's no-call list are overwhelming state lines set up to take their information.
Monday was the deadline for callers to have their phone numbers added to the no-call list on Jan. 1. Missing Monday's deadline means numbers couldn't be added to the list barring telemarketer contact until April 1.
State Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection spokeswoman Donna Gilson says callers were complaining they couldn't get through on the phone to register their numbers.
She says it is normal for the state's 94 lines to be overwhelmed on the four no-call list deadline days each year.
Gilson says callers can either try to call again or register online at https://nocall.wisconsin.gov/web/home.asp

With such a high percentage of folks disturbed over this/ one would imagine an eventual illimination of wasted paper ads in the mail/ no more solicitation by door-to-door, and yes the evil unexpected solicitation by phone.
If I desire a service, an item, or fireplace foder, I will go and get it on my own. We need to impress the issue upon our congress further so this 4 times a year issue can be put to rest. Save resources and free up the tangled lines for more suitable needs. Democratic Society/ Majority rules.

Plan ahead, or use the internet to register (which you can access at local libraries if you don't have a connection). People's last minute poor planning is not the state's problem!
After all, remember the fable-ous story of your aunt and the Grasshopper, David Carradine--what was she thinking anyway?
