Resolution reached in Lake Geneva battle
ELKHORN—Things soon will be back to normal in Lake Geneva.
Mayor Bill Chesen today agreed to rescind the suspensions of city council members Mary Jo Fesenmaier and Tom Spellman, and to drop the charges he brought against them and council members Arleen Krohn and Penny Roehrer.
Alderman Spyro “Speedo” Condos, who was appointed to the city council Aug. 24 to fill a vacant seat, also has agreed to resign from his position. He is eligible to run for city council or mayor in the April election.
Walworth County Court Judge Michael Gibbs helped facilitate the resolution to the more than two-month political battle that has divided the city.
Fesenmaier, Krohn, Roehrer and Spellman all told the judge they approved of the agreement. Chesen said he approved of the agreement “with some reluctance.”

It is apparent the charges Chesen brought against the four alderpeople were false and not legitimate. He brought these false charges against these people to try to minuliplate the government of Lake Geneva. Chesen has caused havoc and distrust in the City of Lake Geneva's Government since he moved here a few years ago and was appointed to a position. If anyone should resign it should be Chesen. He is a poor excuse for a leader and a mayor.
