(MCT) Nov. 24--A 22-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with reckless homicide in the shotgun slaying of his neighbor during a shootout over a cell phone last week.

According to a criminal complaint released Tuesday: Noel Fayne had borrowed a cell phone from Clifton Anderson, 23, a friend who lived upstairs from Fayne in an apartment in the 2900 block of N. 62nd St. When Fayne was late returning it, Anderson and his girlfriend came downstairs to get it back on Thursday evening. He and Fayne wound up fighting, while the girlfriend found the phone. Anderson and his girlfriend left with the phone and Fayne’s wallet.

Fayne went upstairs and banged on Anderson’s door until someone inside fired two gunshots. Fayne retreated to his own apartment, got a shotgun and returned upstairs, where he banged on Anderson’s door enough to leave about a three-inch hole. He said he gave up, left, but then returned with the shotgun a second time.

That time, the door was open, and his wallet was on the threshold. After he picked it up, Fayne told police, he saw Clifton Anderson’s brother Marques pointing two handguns at him. Clifton Anderson, also armed with a handgun, grabbed Fayne’s shotgun, the two men struggled, and the shotgun went off, striking Anderson fatally in the head, according to the complaint.

Fayne told police he ran down to his apartment and closed the door before someone began firing shots into his apartment. He told police he left via the front door and drove way. Fayne is charged with first-degree reckless homicide and also with the armed robbery of a phone store on Fond du Lac Ave. in July.

the trailer park comment is uncalled for many decent people live in very nice trailers. The whole incident is insane and all involved should be put away.

Hmmmm....tough call. He didn't really kill this Anderson fellow. Anderson and his brother's stupidity did. You don't point 2 guns in someone's face and think you are invincible. I also wonder if Marques Anderson has been charged with the same or a similar charge!!!

Doesn't matter where they live or what town they live in but D@mn .... what do people think when they do something as stupid as this ... lock them all up, this gives the good hobby/gun owners a bad name.

It looks like violence is spreading from Beloit to Milwaukee.

Lock them both up . They killed a guy over a cell phone. Neither should walk our streets again.
