Beloit Township fire scorches trailer home
BELOIT TOWNSHIP—The cause of a trailer home fire in Beloit Township on Friday remains under investigation.
Firefighters went to 6219 S. Highway 51, lot 50, in the Rockvale Trailer Park at 8:41 p.m. and found heavy smoke inside the trailer, according to a Town of Beloit Fire Department news release.
No one was injured in the blaze, but the home was a total loss.
The American Red Cross is helping people who lived in the trailer.

My heart goes out to this family! This "home" used to be me and my families home over 6+ years ago! We were devastated to here this distressing news. We have wonderful memories of that "trailer" and the community of Rockvale. We would like to help this family any way that we can. Please post any info that anyone has on how we can help! My prayers are with this family! God bless!

Point made. It's a home. That's what was made of it! Goodness, josaw, it was the stereotype that was portrayed in your first post. It's a home.

i also live out here in Rockvale. This "Community" is already comming together to help this family out. already folks are trying to help find furniture and things for them. They are putting togehter a group to help tear the home down so its no cost to the family. If i lived in the CITY .or in a Apartment would that happen I think not.Do i like being called Trailer Park No i dont. A PARK is something you visit not where you live. out here a home was scorched by fire last night and a family was displaced for the holidays! They lost a family pet. hats how it should have read.

I as well live in this COMMUNITY and we as members of this COMMUNITY have worked hard to overcome the stereotypical views of shallow people that seem to believe that those living in MOBILE HOMES are beneath them. I witnessed this horrible tragedy first hand and my heart bleeds for the family's loss. Especially a broken hearted 8 year old girl that lost her beloved pet. What a horrible loss to such a beautiful little girl. I agree with you ALB and Josaw!!!! Get a grip people¬!!!!!

by demaning i mean that a trailer is something that i can pull behind my car or truck a pop up camper also. These homes can not. Thier is such stereo types when it comes to Mobile Home Communties. Back in the 70's it was a trailer, but now they are made to withstand like a stick built home. If a home catches fire in a Sub- Division you dont hear them report that a fire scorched a wood built home. It's reported a home was scorched. this is no diffrent and it's not taking away from the fact that a family is now without do to a horrible accident..

was this done by an actual reporter. i live in rockvale mobile home community but the reporter should be more perfessional about how he reports something. some people get affended by the term trailer. it was 6219 hy 51 south lot 50 at rockvale mobile home community and no it was not where Koepp was living or the murders took place. the people had just gone to bed when they smelled smoke. they got out safley along with there child but the family cat did not. they lost everything in there home and the home is a total loss.

I used to live in a trailer...I didn't try to "dress up" the word to make it something it wasn't. That's what it is!
Now I live in an apartment. Oh. My. Gosh.
Let's not worry about the people and their loss, let's worry about whether you call it a home or a trailer???
Wow.

josaw, how is it demeaning? It's a trailer and it's a home? A home is what one makes of it.

fist my thoughts go out to the family that lost thier home so close to the holidays that can always be devastating. secondly no this is not where that guy lives this fire was in Rockvale Mobile Home Community the big community on 51. thirdly to refer to their home as a trailer is demeaning in every way. this was thier HOME. People who live in mobile Homes are not any less then those in Stick built houses. When will the public get the message and refer to these homes and the people living .in them with proper respect

I'm sorry for the family. Glad all are fine.
Just a note, the trailer park is not in Beloit Township. It is Rock Township, But use the Town of Beloit fire dept. Thank you for your service. We had to call them when we lived there.
