Wis. DNR asks hunters to watch for drug operations
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State wildlife officials are asking hunters to keep an eye out for any drug-growing operations hidden in remote areas across Wisconsin.
The call comes after two sophisticated marijuana operations were found in the last two years. In both cases thousands of plants were found on public lands, in part because private lands can be seized if they're used to grow drugs.
Because the operations are well hidden, they're usually only found when hunters stumble across them. So the Department of Natural Resources wants hunters who spot anything suspicious to tell authorities.
DNR warden Randy Stark says hunters who see something shouldn't put themselves in danger. He says they should back out the way they came, and later write down their location and other observations.

You don't want to be controlled by big brother, but yet you surrender your life to a harmful drug that controls you through addiction and then you boast how much you think you are in control. How sad that the non pot heads are only concerned about taxes and are willing to throw their support behind legalization.

The government could save a fortune if they just legalized it. No more money spent on the war on marijuana. Then they can tax it. How perfect!

the kid you risk incarceration just for owning the stuff. As far as legalizing, I have yet to meet a dope smoker I could tolerate having around. I have worked with several and most the time their only concern is wether or not they can get more weed and yet they claim it is not addictive. The problem with the marijuana is no different than alcohol claim is that it is easier to get yourself stupid with marijuana. I worked with a guy that would smoke on his way to work and talk stupid all day. Its a little harder to get stupid drunk on a 15 minute drive to work.

legalize marijuana and eliminate the risk of booby traps
marijuana is like any other crop. if they havent harvested yet the crop will be worthless anyways. you may find the remnants of an operation during gun deer season, but i doubt theyll find much in the way of active grow fields.

These operations are very complex and extremely dangerous,my buddies in Ohio came across one while grouse hunting one day,it was rigged with booby traps and trip wires attached to loaded single shot 12ga shotguns I would not recommend approaching these at all and get the hell out of there They were very lucky!!!
