Airline expanding in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE — Republic Airways will establish an airline hub in Milwaukee County, a move that will retain 800 local jobs and could bring hundreds more to the area.
The company said Tuesday the jobs include work on flight crews, in call centers and on aircraft maintenance.
Republic bought Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines on July 31 and Denver-based Frontier Airlines two months later. Many of the new Milwaukee jobs are expected to come from Frontier’s operations in Denver and Las Cruces, N.M.
The company can earn up to $27 million in Wisconsin tax credits by meeting certain job and investment goals.

Tracco---Southwest is the cheapest...I don't think you knew how to get tickets through them. You have to fly from hub to hub. You get most one way tickets for under $80

southwest has a promotion - two free bags. the bags i carry on are the same bags i take on northwest or midwest or delta or whatever. i don't think sw has bag restrictions that are any different that the other airlines.

to me, airlines are big buses that fly. so cheap is better. HOWEVER, have you seen the flight attendants on southwest flights? cheap flights AND babes!

Too bad they ruined Midwest Air by switching to those tiny planes (which equals smaller seats). Won't pay extra again to fly Midwest. Cookies are good, but not worth the extra money that Midwest on average charges to fly compared to one of the majors.

Most airlines are able to offer their cheapest fares only for travel through their hubs. An individual flight isn't in any way deterministic of their overall price structure.

booch you are confused . i priced tickets from dallas to milwaukee and saved over $300 bucks.southwest wanted over $1100 .and thats with a $20 bag charge.southwest only lets you take carry on bags that = 24 inches. midwest allows 49 inches.

That's great, but in the meantime some Midwest Airlines people lost their jobs in the transition!
