JANESVILLE -- Jurors in the Janesville triple homicide trial will likely be selected from Racine County, officials said Monday.

Attorneys, Judge Alan Bates and Rock County Clerk of Courts Eldred Mielke met in Rock County Court for a pretrial conference in the case against James Koepp, 50.

Koepp faces three charges of first-degree intentional homicide in the January 2007 slayings of Danyetta Lentz and her teenage children, Nicole and Scott.

Bates, Mielke and attorneys on both sides decided 16 jurors, including four alternates, could be selected from a pool of 100 Racine County residents. They said the area’s demographics are similar to Rock County.

Koepp was granted a change of venue because the judge ruled that media exposure made it difficult for Koepp to get a fair trial from local jurors.

Koepp's trial will still be in Rock County. Jurors will be bused to Rock County and given a hotel room and meals during the trial. The jury will be sequestered.

I think they are deliberately taking it slow while the guy sits in prison on the other sentence. I still want him to have his day in court. I am curious to see how one chronically intoxicated guy overtook and murdered three adult-size people with a knife. I am not saying he is innocent. I just want to see all the evidence.

Does Wisconsin have the Death Penalty? If so he deserves to fry if found guilty! They were good friends of mine, and we miss them terribly!!

As slow as it takes to get a conviction that can stand up to an appeal. The dude is already in jail. What more do you want?

The triple homicide happened almost three years and we are still working on the jury selection. How slow can we go.
