Former Evansville IT coordinator confesses to theft
EVANSVILLE — The former instructional technology coordinator for the Evansville School District has confessed to ordering items and reselling them on eBay at a district loss of $90,000 to $100,000, District Administrator Heidi Carvin said.
Anne Gath resigned in July when the theft was discovered, Carvin said. The case has been forwarded to the Rock County District Attorney’s office for review.
Carvin issued a statement to staff and the school board Wednesday afternoon. It reads, in part: “In the next few days, it is likely that our former Instructional Technology Coordinator, Anne Gath, will face various charges for theft from the district.”
Included in Carvin’s e-mail to the district is a statement from Gath, who offered an apology to staff and the community.

Money money money, I wonder who else got a piece of this pie? COunt all of they money, and track where every penny went-we don't want someone else picking up where this left off-or maybe we only got 1/2 of the problem here? Let's dig deeper.

Instructional Technology, not Information Technology. Instructional is the theory and practice of design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation of processes and resources for learning. Meaning she probably ordered a ton of PC's and Ebay'd them. Nice that the Gazette put it in as 'IT' though, makes things more confusing.

It's unusual for the perpetrators of these types of crime to spend much, if any, time in prison. I'm not saying they shouldn't just that they don't very often. Desperation may drive these people but eventually greed takes control.

Just another example of the lack of integrity and accountability in the workplace! It is so hard to trust people these days, so sad.

and the thefts within continue and will most likey get worse as the JOB situation is not to bright for many. Some people in these positions use to be two income families and live a little above their means and when one of the 2 lose their job the need to stay afloat can lead to criminal behaviors Do not judge, as someone close to you that was always thought to be a good person and never would have done that might just end up doing the unthinkable maybe even you. When times are hard good people can make mistakes in character just to make ends meet. JMO
