Wis. committee meets on lawmaker's expulsion
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A legislative committee has met to consider whether to strip a troubled state lawmaker of his job.
The Assembly Special Committee on Ethics and Standards of Conduct must recommend whether the full body should kick Rep. Jeff Wood out. Wood, a Chippewa Falls independent, has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs three times in the last year.
The committee met for the first time briefly Wednesday. The group decided to begin their work by gathering police reports, squad car videos and other documents in Wood's cases.
It was unclear when the panel would meet again.

Rep. Wood is in treatment. He's on his way out. Why waste time when there's only a couple dozen other things to focus on?

No doubt that Rep. Wood is a trainwreck, but purely from a legal standpoint, should the Assembly be stripping him of his job PRIOR to a conviction for any of these arrests? I wish the guy would just resign and we could avoid the mess entirely.

Publicity? To kick one of their own out will not happen. For next expulsion could be very one(s) enaacting these rules.More than likely courts will handle Wood's before assembly will.
