Unemployed Sheboygan man puts his name on eBay

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Unemployed and desperate, a 19-year-old Sheboygan man is trying to sell one of the only things he owns — his name.

Calvin Gosz has put the rights to give him a new name on eBay.

He says if people can have a name like Mercedes for free, “why wouldn’t McDonald’s pay for me to have Ronald McDonald as a name?”

Gosz says he moved to Wisconsin from Florida in September. He’s filled out more than a dozen job applications, but so far no luck.

Of his decision to go on eBay, he says, “I guess it just kind of goes to show the desperation of some people to try and get some money if they can’t find work.”

The minimum bid is $5,000 — but so far there are no takers.

Gosz(darnit) no job after 12 applications?
I submit 12 resumes by email,snail mail, in person ALL over Wi.,Northern Illinois weekly,if not more,not to mention every temp agency within 40 miles.
Goszdarnit,hitch hike back to Florida!

LOL seriously? Are we supposed to take this shmuck seriously? A dozen job apps since September!? Thats averaging...what, 1 every 3 or 4 days? This is so great. "Why wouldn't McDonalds pay me to have the name Ronald McDonald?"
Um...because despite how ridiculously stupid this idea and story are, there is surely someone even STUPIDER that would do it for free.Although I'd pay him 20$ to change his name to Big Dumb Face. hahahah
