Hunting weapons limited

BARABOO — Wisconsin wildlife officials have approved a rule that limits the types of guns hunters may use.

Hunters can now legally use firearms including air guns, handguns and guns fired from the shoulder. The Wisconsin Conservation Congress, which advises the state Department of Natural Resources, was concerned those definitions were too loose and could allow hunters to use new, untested technology such as electromagnetic weapons.

The Natural Resources Board unanimously approved a rule Wednesday allowing hunters to use only traditional gunpowder firearms or air rifles and pistols.

Wow, I can't believe someone hasn't squawked that this is the beginning of Obama's attempt to take away guns! Where are all "the sky is falling" neo-cons?

Does anybody actually have an electromagnetic gun that could be used for hunting? I've never seen one. I had insurance once that stated it didn't apply to riding in vehicles that left the Earth's atmosphere. Maybe this is the same kind of forward thinking, preemptive thinking.

Badgerboy is completly right. The only reason I can see a law like this being passed is so some YAHOO who is working in our gov. can put it down on their resume that they added such and such number of laws while they were in office.. So they can say "They made a differnce." When they did, they made it more of a f-uped world to live in... Every year we get more laws... When does the year come that they take some of them away? When will we get a canidate that is for giving us are freedoms back.. Cause our current system has what I like to call "the soccer mom syndrom" where in the future your little jonny wont even be able to get a paper cut cause everything will be wrapt in so much "safty tape from the safty police"

badgerboy: You make a good point. We keep making new laws, new rules. I say we need a part-time unicameral legislature.

Sounds to me like it's a solution chasing a non existing problem.
