Fall turkey hunt extended
BARABOO — The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board has extended the fall turkey hunting season by a month.
Until now, the fall season has run from mid-September until just before the nine-day November deer gun. The board unanimously approved a plan Wednesday to resume the turkey hunt after the deer hunt and continue through Dec. 31.
The state Department of Natural Resources says the fall harvest is typically low compared with the more popular spring season and that the extension shouldn’t dramatically reduce the turkey population.

Sad thing is for the trophy hunters, the turkeys won't have all the weight in the winter months, just as in the later spring time when they are preoccupied with getting a woman...lol. I agree that this should be extended, the turkey population is getting outrageous! But they are elusive little buggers!

I've seen a *lot* of turkeys around - some especially fat toms running around the west country side of Janesville.
