MILWAUKEE (AP) -- This might not come as a surprise. Fewer people are buying new cars and trucks in Wisconsin.

Sales dropped 30 percent in April compared to the same month a year ago.

Cross-Sell does market analysis for automotive dealers nationwide. It says about 14,600 new cars and trucks were sold last month, compared to about 21,060 in April 2008.

Figures show Wisconsin is doing better than the nation as a whole. It saw a 37 percent drop in new car and truck sales in April compared the same month in 2008.

Spark your completly right... Does anyone remeber the 70's??? TONS of cars EVERYONE LOVED before 72' After 72' I think it wasn't until 98 that GM made a decent looking and performaning car... The Corvette.. Does anyone remeber the 185hp vettes? I think my neighbors Honda sport bike has more H.P. then the old Vettes.... Or what about the Vega's? real safe car... Wonder why they had to make the Vega too?? Hmm..ITS PROVEN in the past KEEP GOV. OUT of Private buisness. All I need to say is we all better start getting used to this Socializm cause I don't think its going anywhere anytime soon. And after Friday I think we will all have a bigger share in GM too even tho we dont' want it like that....

Bellagio_Bound - Don't worry, they're going to try and sell you an electric car that's 1/4 of the size of your suburban that will still cost you $45,000. What a bargain.

With lay offs here in Wisconsin and plant closing, what did you expected. No jobs, no money to spend. And with the GM plant shuttered in Janesville does not help the sells, because the employees were buying new vehicles when they were working.

Hey Janesville Gazette employee that posted this story. Why don't you post something that is news to us. I thought news ment its was new thats how you get the name news right??? SO please don't waste this space on your front page for something that is obvious to someone that doesn't even read the paper... Why not put a story up on how people can stimulate the local economy??? Why not try to WRITE a story about how all of us can make a differnce in the community, instead of wasting it on crap like this...
