Apply for BadgerCare Plus starting June 15
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Some low-income Wisconsin families can begin applying for an expanded state health insurance program next month.
The BadgerCare Plus Core Plan provides health insurance to uninsured low-income adults with no children. It covers primary and preventive care along with generic drugs.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says it will start accepting applications for the expanded program June 15. The earliest benefits would begin is July 15.
The application period was supposed to begin June 1 but was delayed two weeks because of budget uncertainties.
To qualify for the program, an applicant's annual family income can't be more than $21,660 for a single person or $29,140 for a married couple.

I am grateful that they are expanding the coverage to those without kids. However that income limit seems awful restrictive. My parents make more than that however have no kids at home and still can not afford private insurance or the insurance they can purchase through their jobs.
Why do people have to pick between food and a house vs. insurance?
