TOMAH, Wis. (AP) — Family, friends and state officials will send off a Tomah-based Wisconsin Army National Guard unit Saturday.

About 80 soldiers from the headquarters unit of 732nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion will depart for a month of training in Indiana before deploying to Iraq. The unit will command logistics operations in its assigned area.

The unit received its mobilization order Oct. 3. Soldiers will spend about a year on active duty.

God speed to you and your families during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. I myself have several members of my family in the military, one currently also activated and several soon to be in the late summer, early fall. Take care.
