Thanks Pat, you hit the nail on the head. This is about careless driving. Multi-tasking while behind the wheel. Imagine the outpouring of thoughts and prayers if she would have killed a child in a cross walk...

Its sad regardless of what she was driving. That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. Painting your nails when driving,,let her paint them in jail she will have time. Seriously folks eyes on the road, cell phone down, paint brush away. How sad.

This is not just about one person dying. One motorcyclist dying. This is about the fact that the number of motorcycle traffic deaths go up each year. If that lady was in a car and head been hit from behind she could have died as well it is very sad. They just had it on the news last night that compared to this time last year there are 16 more motorcycle rider deaths . Most riders or passengers who die are not sitting at stop lights/signs. Most die because of their own careless actions , not because of the actions of others. It's like when a car hits a semi head on,, who do you think is going to walk away? If you want to ride a motorcycle you take your chances. Be stupid and ride without a helmet .. dumber yet. I hope its worth it for this kind of 'fun.' IF you are going to ride you take your chances.

Actually Bennoton, the fignernail painting scum in question was driving a Chevy Impala. The area this happened in is a 55 zone. This woman would had not been able to stop and would had hit anything crossing the intersection.

and...maybe they shouldn't obey traffic signals and then expect idiots driving SUVs not to run them over and kill them.

curtaincall: To put it mildly, that was a real callous thing to say. What the heck are you thinking? Number one...don't cop an attitude toward an entire group of people for the actions of a few here and there. Number two...perhaps you should take into consideration what actually occurred here...an innocent person, on a motorcycle, was slaughtered. Please think a bit more before you post.

Curtain,
This woman was killed as she sat stopped at a stop light. Her killer was driving SUV while painting her nails.
This woman was murdered and her killer needs to be treated accordingly.
And for your information, this motorcylist was wearing full gear and was fully trained.
You comment on the motorcycle but fail to realize her killer was PAINTING HER NAILS WHILE SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING!!!!!!!!
You should be ashamed of yourself.

I think there should be more requirements on getting a drivers license.

Maybe they should not drive like they own the road. I think there needs to be more requirements on getting a motorcycle license, more training required. Most cyclists are respectful but many are not.
