No students were seriously injured in this morning's crash that involved a Clinton Community School District bus and a vehicle, according to a Rock County Sheriff's Office press release.

However, the driver of the vehicle, Landon C. Riggs, 43, of 4208 N. Juniper Drive, Janesville, was transported to Mercy Hospital for an arm injury, according to the sheriff's office.

Kemp Road, at Highway 14 East 2 miles east of Emerald Grove, was blocked to traffic for a while after the 7:20 a.m. crash, according to a dispatcher at the Rock County Communications Center.

Between 16 and 20 kids were riding on the bus. One student complained of a bump to the head and another student complained of pain to the wrist.

Deputies from the Sheriff's office, Wisconsin State Patrol, along with fire and rescue personnel from the Clinton Fire Department responded to the scene.

WISC-TV just said he stopped at a stop sign, and proceeded without seeing an oncoming vehicle. I did that once. We both got tickets.

I clearly remember hearing the bus in Cary-Grove, IL that got hit by a train in 1995. So, don't stop on railroad tracks... period!

I remember Evansville's bus accident too well. My girls were on it and it was the scariest phone call I ever had. Sending good thoughts to all involved and hoping the kids are all ok.
