Snow leads to fatal Lafayette County crash
DARLINGTON, Wis. (AP) — Lafayette County authorities say this weekend’s snow and ice led to a fatal crash.
It’s the county’s first traffic death of the year.
Chief deputy John Reichling says two vehicles collided Saturday about 5:45 p.m. near Darlington.
One vehicle was driven by 25-year-old Lilia P. Moreno-Landero of Darlington. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was a 51-year-old Belmont woman, who was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation, although Reichling notes that the road was snow-covered and slippery.
Both women were wearing seat belts.

I was dreading this! Everytime we have a late snowfall, this ALWAYS happens. Every year. I know that we are suppose to believe that the book has already been written, but it still is a kick in the gut. I am so sorry for this woman's family. Prayers to all of you!
