Residents of Rock Township, who are experiencing or threatened by high water, may obtain free sandbags and sand at Rock Town Hall, 5102 S. County D, Afton, according to a Rock County Sheriff's Office press release.

Those who need sand should bring their own shovels to use, the press release said.

after last year's flood I have come to the conclusion that I'm not as young as I use to be. The pain I took on my body was well worth the effort up in Newville. But I don't think this old man can do it anymore so I will do the right thing and help out in other ways if needed. I took great pride in helping out last June and even if it means not filling sand bags this year it will still be a way of "giving forward" to those in need
