U.S. attorney candidates announced
MADISON -– A federal panel has selected four finalists for the vacant U.S. attorney’s position in Milwaukee.
The Federal Nominating Commission has chosen Richard Frohling, Mel Johnson, James Santelle and Maxine White from 10 applicants.
Former President George Bush appointed Steven Biskupic as U.S. attorney in Milwaukee in 2002. Biskupic resigned in January following President Obama’s election.
The commission has forwarded the finalists’ names to Wisconsin’s two senators, Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl. They’ll make a final recommendation to Obama.
