Wisconsin native writes latest 'Simpsons' episode
RACINE — A Wisconsin native has written the latest episode of FOX's hit cartoon "The Simpsons."
Thirty-year-old Matt Marshall wrote the episode that will air Sunday night.
Marshall says it's a dream come true: He has wanted to write for cartoons since he was 12 years old.
Marshall grew up in Racine and Mount Pleasant and graduated from UW-Oshkosh.
He moved to Los Angeles after college and has worked for the "The Simpsons" for five years as a writers' assistant. That means he sits with the writers all day, writing down their jokes and ideas as they work on scripts.
He pitched his idea for an episode in which the Simpsons go to Ireland about 18 months ago.
