MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Madison police have arrested a man accused of holding a woman captive in his apartment for three days and sexually assaulting her.

Police are seeking a charge of first-degree sexual assault against the 54-year-old man. He was arrested Sunday.

A search warrant filed Tuesday says the man and a friend beat the woman and took turns sexually assaulting her.

The 46-year-old woman tells police she met the man last Wednesday and went back to his apartment. She says the man and his friend attacked her, assaulted her and threatening her with a knife whenever she tried to leave.

The search warrant doesn't say how she escaped.

Court records show the man has previous convictions for battery and disorderly conduct.

Watch out 911 dispatchers, you'll probably get blamed for this one too!

I am NOT blaming the victim, but she did take a chance going to someone's apartment who she did just meet. It's the horror stories your parents warned you about and she lived it. She is lucky to have survived.

She has a difficult recovery ahead of her. I wish her the best.

SK, this isn't the 19th century. People meet people and go back to apartments all the time. Your comment smacks of blaming the victim.

Zippy: I thing "thekid" meant that whatever he wrote first was deleted by the gazette staff and he thought it was lame to delete his first comment. He was not referring the article itself being lame.

My heart goes out to her.
I hope the guys get what they deserve.

This is a good example that people need to be careful. Why would you meet someone & go to their apartment? Unfortunately nowadays you can't trust everyone.
