Slow/no wake orders have been issued for the portions of Rock River in Fulton and Milton townships.

Last week, slow/no wake orders went into effect for portions of the Rock River running through Janesville, Janesville Township and Beloit Township.

Slow/no wake orders are still in effect for all of Clear Lake.

Slow/no wake is the minimum speed a motorized watercraft can travel while still maintaining steerage. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office will enforce this speed restriction. If you witness a slow/ no wake violation, call the sheriff’s office at (608) 757-2244.

The concern is that boat wakes will cause shoreline and personal property damage to areas of the river that have exceeded their banks, according to press releases from the City of Janesville and sheriff’s office.

Please close the boat landing, not allowing any boats on the river.
