State superintendent selected as Nicolet president
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster has been selected as the next president of Nicolet College in Rhinelander.
The college's Board of Trustees announced the appointment Wednesday.
Burmaster sought the position after deciding against seeking a third term as superintendent. Her term in the nonpartisan post ends June 30.
Current Nicolet President Adrian Lorbetske is retiring at the end of June after 18 years in that position. He makes $158,000 a year.
Board President Gene Carlson says Burmaster accepted the position Friday. She was chosen from a field of five finalists that narrowed to three when two accepted positions elsewhere.
