Darien board members plead not guilty
ELKHORN--The members of the Darien Village Board on Wednesday moved one step closer to a trial.
All seven board members Wednesday afternoon pleaded not guilty in Walworth County Court to charges that they violated the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law.
Board members will next appear in court at 4 p.m. Friday, April 3, for a pre-trial hearing.

Phil Putman told me that he asked if community service was an option. Assistant District Attorney Diane Donahoo told him it wasn't, he said.

Ok lets have a trail, Guilty as charged ,500 hours community service . 1,000 fine and fire the whole lot and start over. case dismissed.

The entire board is headed towards a trial? Interesting. Guess I'll have to keep abreast of this 'top story' of Darien!
