From the WCLO newsroom:

Town of Beloit Police arrest a teen in connection with a string of burglaries and thefts in February.

Police say 18-year-old Leroy Stocker was arrested Tuesday at the Rock County Jail. He was in custody on a probation hold. The first incident occurred on Riverside Drive early February 12. A garage was burglarized and truck taken. Five nights later, a similar burglary happened at a home on Paddock Road. Jewelry was among the items taken. On February 20, Stocker was arrested on a warrant. Police recovered some of the stolen items from the Paddock Road burglary, and items linked with eleven additional incidents.

DNA is being sent to the State Crime Lab for testing.

Police say Stocker is being held in custody for two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, two counts of probation violation and one count of taking/operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

His initial court appearance is scheduled on Wednesday.

+2....I have been a victim of one of the Beloit Townships ridiculous speeding tickets. Usually they'll set up speed traps right around lunchtime. Their officers are a total joke and couldn't solve a real crime to save their lives........

Yep, already in the RC jail on a probation hold. He probably mouthed off and was bragging about the jobs he pulled, that they didn't even know about yet. Another inmate probably rolled on him and that's how the Beloit Police department got wind of it.

Another entry for the stupid criminal archives... Duh!

Paisleysdaddy hit the nail on the head. TBPD definitely had help with this case. More like, "Look what fell into my lap." We know who solved this crime. Shame on TBPD to take the credit. On the other hand, you definitely know how to issue tickets for going a mile or two over the speed limit. Maybe the chief should worry more about solving crimes than being a vindictive dictator.

I can almost guarantee you all that the TBPD did not catch, nor did they investigate any of these. They wait until someone is caught by another precinct for something else and they have evidence that would relate to a crime in the TOB. Doing a criminal investigation in the TOB is pointless for them because it doesn't guarantee them any revenue. That's why they pull so many people over all the time and get fines through traffic violations.
Our house was broken into twice two summers ago and they never even bothered investigating anything, muchless every catching anyone.

Teen? I mean I realize he's 18 but I would think they would refer to him as an adult. Isn't 18 leagal adult age?? I hope he won't be tried in teen court, but as an adult for these crimes!!ha ha !!
