A traffic delay continues as officials clean up a semitrailer truck rollover on westbound Interstate 90/39 near Racine Street in Janesville.

The truck, which was hauling mulch, rolled at 11:27 a.m., a spokeswoman for the Wisconsin State Patrol said. There were no injuries.

The Racine Street ramps to I-90/39 were closed for a short time as emergency workers arrived on the scene but are open now, the spokeswoman said.

I'd bet money that the truck involved in this accident is governed below 66 mph...

I had to laugh about the line of cars not wanting to pass the squad car. I had a similar incident. An Onalaska Police squad came onto 90 westbound at the first Dells on ramp. Nobody wanted to pass him and traffic started to back up behind him. I took the initiative by only going 3 mph above the speed limit. I passed him and continued at that speed and soon I was traveling all by myself. By the time I got to Mauston, the rest of the 'pack' was no where in site, they were all too afraid to pass this squad!

Just a tip about driving .........it is NEVER safer to go over the speed limit than at the limit.......*NEVER*
.
The "Keeping up with traffic" myth has caused lots and lots of death and injury.
.
Just remember one thing........When you see those huge pile-ups on the news, they're ALL "keeping up with traffic"...THINK ABOUT IT.

No, I'm not a cop or politician of any sort.

A race car driver pushing speeds of 200 mph has more control than the average knuckle head driving at 30 mph. Why? Because he's focused and concentrating on driving. He's not distracted. That's what driving requires. It's a privleage to drive, but people take it for granted. Same reason Germany has less accidents than America and they even have the Autobon. They don't build their cars with cup holders, televisions, dvd players, etc. Things that automatically distract.

There are a lot of careless drivers out there, and it's worse when it's on the interstate with people going 70+ mph. It's annoying when someone is tailgating you, especially at high speeds. I always say to myself, "If I had to slam on my breaks RIGHT NOW, we'd both be in a lot of trouble!"
.
I'd also like to add that if I ever see a semi in front of me with their blinker on, I slow down so he or she can switch lanes.

Not too long ago I was driving north on 43 around Elkhorn and there was a semi ahead of me driving erratically. Fortunately, there wasn't much traffic. When I reached an area with three lanes, I passed him. As I glanced over at the driver, I see this fool reading a book! A hardcover book. A novel perhaps? Needless to say, authorities were alerted. To their credit they responded quickly, averting a possible calamity.

Ljs64, your comments are so silly and childlike that I have to restrain myself from answering. Like most foolish people, you are just hanging yourself with your comments.

And you are so predictable. You never respond to the issue at hand. You just go on the attack and go negative. I am sorry that you have turned into such a hateful and spiteful person.

Now back to the point-I think the on and off ramps near Beloit and Janesville cause some of the problems. Getting on or off I-90 is a real crap shoot. Cars are merging when you are getting off and on. People never slow down or let you in.

SarahB - do you know how hard it is in WI to be 100% no fault. Good for you, but bad for you to be in the accident. Obviously, you are okay, and thank God for that. but 100% no fault? Rare, the other person should be baned to have a driver's license for life.

Employment usually has me commuting via Interstate 90 from Janesville to Madison or down to Rockford, IL. I've done that most of the time since 1995 (when not temporarily unemployed as I am again now). That span of I-90 is increasingly more congested and dangerous. (Although the speed-thru toll near South Beloit has helped tremendously at that point in the route.) I've been in two accidents while at a total stop (due to accidents farther up in front of me). One was a major one in which I had to be extricated from the car. Luckily, I was found to be 100 percent NOT at fault in either incident. Both times, I was slammed from behind by out-of-state drivers traveling too closely and driving way over the speed limit. I pray there is never a third accident because it might kill me. By dad used to say that part of the problem is that drivers from Illinois have been driving in the 80 mph-to-90 mph range before they cross over into Wisconsin and have trouble dropping to a consistently lower speed. This past Monday, I had a Hummer with Illinois plates riding my rear at about 80 mph before the lady driving it finally switched to the left lane. All I could think was: "It must be nice to drive that frickin' expensive tank down the Interstate like you're made of money to burn, you b----." I think this economy is starting to get to me. I hope I can surrender before I hit the level StaceyU2 apparently fell to earlier today. Be safe, everyone!

I was driving the beltline one time when right in front of me, to the right, a car broke over two lanes to catch an exit. That person cut off a trucker who of course took the ditch. In my rear-view mirror I saw the bottom of his truck as it rolled into the ditch. Traffic was bad and if I would have stopped, it would have caused a mutilply pile up. I wonder if this is what happened here. As far as I know, CDL licenses are strict. CDL does not allow for 2nd chances. As far as I know, once a semidriver has been in an accident, they loose their license and it doesn't matter that a car caused it. If you think about it, everything we have in our homes are transported by semis.

Cement is the powdery mix when mixed with water makes CONCRETE. The "cement bridge" would not last long as the wind would blow it away.

Please provide me the link/source where you gain your facts that medical problems have contributed to more accidents near Beloit/ stateline vs. anywhere else on the Interstate.

And finally, if you are caught speeding, then you were exceeding the posted speed limit and thus it was not a trap. The speed limits are posted, if you choose to drive above the posted limits you are then subject to receiving a citation.

You certainly are a Joke.

Ljs, nice manners. Yes, there are speed traps or as the police may call them, speed enforcement zones. So are you saying that a person cannot be caught in a trap? I see that the thaw of Winter has not made you any smarter. I take responsibility for my actions, unlike some people in this town.

Yes, medical problems, like a heart attack, seizure, stroke, sleep apnea, etc which then results in a crash into others or into the cement bridge. Many of the accidents-fatal or non fatal accidents that have happened near Beloit have been medical problem related.

I would suggest you check the facts before you look even more childish and ignorant than you appear.

Jayeli, interesting story about your friend. I have seen what he refers to as well. Scary drivers out there.

Near the stateline? Are you blogging while driving. JK. I am also by the stateline and now blame every medical problem I have on that. Again, JK. I'm sure he meant mental problems. But not that someone has a mental problem, but the fact that they cannot understand your mind can only do so many things at once. Driver talking on the phone and putting on makeup, talking on the phone and brushing their teeth, how 'bout texting on the phone. HELLO? When I see this, I stay as far away as possible and watch out for the inevitable.

Joker I have a friend that drives from N WI to FL (and no it's not drugs-he'd be alot wealthier) But he dreads the Janesville area I90. He says the speeding and speed traps cause cars to drive fast then brake then speed, swerve around semis, not realizing that these semis cannot stop like a car and of course cannot maneuver as a car does. He has told me about some very close calls and he's the one that has to escape the situation as no car is a match for a semi. So if you see a car holding up traffic to let a semi merge or do a lane change it is probably me. I give them their room.
On the other hand I have been run off the road by a semi who didn't see me, which is why I accelerate when I pass them (still nervous) also had one fall asleep and enter my lane.
Both semis and cars speed. One is not better than the other, but if people just had more respect for others, some accidents could be avoided.

Around Janesville and Beloit??? It extends beyond this immediate area. If you don't believe me take a drive to Madison any weekday morning at 7am. Anyone traveling less than 70 will be run off the road. The only time traffic slows down is if a State Trooper is driving the same direction and no one will pass him/her.

Last summer on my way home from work right in that area - going south, there was a semi carrying 4X4 postsand they started flying off the truck and bouncing onto the roadway- I ran one over and it hit my tires HARD. I pulled off onto Cty J and there was a Sheriff tucked back there in the trees... I got out to look at my tires (all flat) and walked over to him. I reported that there were many posts on the Interstate, I hit one and asked him to do something about it. his comment to me was, "Well if I have time I can try and call the State patrol" I said, no, really, it needs to be done NOW I have flat tires from it, and I-90 is swamped. He said, Mam, you need to get back in your vehicle and wait for your ride, and I will call SP when I have time. So there you go, it is NOT monitored at all along that stretch... no wonder there are accidents with that mentality!

Yes, I would agree. People drive like fools near Beloit and Janesville. Look what happened with that van filled with kids that crashed near Milton about 10 years ago. I have seen speed traps in this area before. Are they still there or have the state patrol given up on this area?

Seems like some people also have medical problems while driving. I know that this happens quite a bit near the state line. The outcome is never good. Lots of carnage.

Joker-That's because that stretch has the highest excessive speeding out of practically any other area. Not quite sure why, but it's real bad. I remember when they setup a speed trap sometime back and busted like 100 people for speeding in one weekend and some of the speeds were like 25 mph over the limit.
