Green Bay — Three people in a judge’s courtroom at the Brown County Courthouse were checked for possible contamination after a letter was found with a suspicious substance inside.

Officials said they determined the substance was calcium sulfite, a chemical used as a food preservative, and didn’t pose a threat.

The three people were in the courtroom of Circuit Judge Tim Hinkfuss on the third floor. The first and second floors of the courthouse remained open as usual during the three-hour incident.

Authorities said the letter may have come from a prisoner who was sentenced by Hinkfuss and made previous threats.

The incident remains under investigation.

What's the big deal??? Food preservatives should be stored next to your stationary and envelopes at all times...it keeps the devil away.
