Hundreds of warbirds to be at EAA AirVenture
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Aircraft enthusiasts will get to see hundreds of warbird fighters and bombers at EAA AirVenture this summer.
The World War II fighter aircraft scheduled to participate include restored Japanese Zero and German Messerschmitt 109 as well as British Hurricane, Spitfire, Hellcat, Wildcat, P-38, P-40, P-47, and P-51s from the American side.
There will also be well-known World War II-era bombers including the B-17 "Flying Fortress" and B-25 "Mitchell."
Some of the top aviation museums and collections are participating.
EAA president and AirVenture chairman Tom Poberezny (pob-er-EZ'-nee) says this fighter collection has not been seen at Oshkosh in many years and may not be seen again.
EAA AirVenture will be held July 27 through Aug. 2.
