UPDATED: House fire on Sunny Lane extinguished

ROCK TOWNSHIP – Town of Beloit firefighters fought a house fire at 507 W. Sunny Lane between Beloit and Janesville on Wednesday morning.

The call came in at 9:54 a.m. The fire was extinguished quickly. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were seen rescuing a cat from the one-story house. The Rock County Humane Society took custody of the cat. A number of dogs and cats perished, however, firefighters said.

Town of Turtle firefighters assisted at the scene.
