Watch ESPN video about Janesville
Janesville and Beloit will be the focus of an ESPN report Sunday.
Unfortunately, it won’t be about an athletic achievement.
Three one-minute pieces covering the effects of the recession—and the closing of the Janesville General Motors plant—will cap a weeklong series on “Outside The Lines.”
The series began Monday on the show, which airs weekdays from 2 to 3 p.m.
Sunday’s segment about Janesville and Beloit will air at 8 a.m. and again on the 11 a.m. segment of ESPNEWS.

Truthteller, I don't know if you recall the previous articles regarding the new ice arena but let me refresh your memory. It said that the new arena would cost and estimated 4-4.5 million and that the private group would be coming up with 1.5-2 million of that. It then said that the additional sheet of ice would be another 800,000 to 1 million which the private group would also come up with. Now I'm no math major but if you figure this simple equation out that leaves the city to pay for 2-2.5 million for the new ice arena not 5-7.5 million as your claiming. Sorry to rain on your parade.

They already said they are going to add another sheet of ice for $1,000,000 more and we all know these estimates done by the lobbyists for the ice arena are way low to make it sound better. I found a similar complex on the web that cost $7.5 million.

Oh yeah? our sports economy is so bad were going to waste $5-$7 million on a new ice arena? When our schools and city budgets are in the red? Is this segment going to be on the funny side of sports???
