Wisconsin submits its incentives to GM
As expected, Wisconsin has submitted its proposal to General Motors to reopen its Janesville factory to make the company’s new small car.
Zach Brandon is executive assistant at the state Commerce Department. He said a "competitive" proposal was delivered Tuesday but that no details will be released because of the nature of the negotiations.
GM has said it will choose one of three factories for production of the new car: Janesville; Orion Township, Mich., or Spring Hill, Tenn.
Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen has said he doubts his state can afford the hundreds of millions of dollars GM apparently wants to bring new production to the Spring Hill plant. Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm has said she is determined to land the GM jobs producing up to 160,000 small cars a year.

bobb1951, I disagree, it comes down to politics and we have a lot of crooked politicians in this state, and they will do anything to get it here,In the long run GM is not going to make it period..

I think we the people have a right to know what was offered, If the Gazette had any reporters with guts they would make sure we got that info, They dont want to offend the union in this town and lose some customers.
