I work part time at a tanning salon and people bring their kids in ALL th time!! It drives me crazy that they think I am a free babysitter, but I would much rather watch them then have them sit in the car or go in the room with the parents!! (yes, a lot of people think this is OK!) We had a woman leave her autistic child for me to watch and he was running around the parking lot and got in her car and got into a bunch of stuff and when I tried to correct the child he freaked out! Parents DO NOT think!!!

So much for maternal instincts and doing whatever it takes to protect your children. It's the same thing with these soccer moms. It's like the more kids they get in the car, the worse they drive. Not because of distractions from screaming kids, just driving really fast, cutting in and out of traffic, etc. It seems like some women just like the idea of being pregnant and getting attention, then when the kids show up they don't want to be bothered with making motherhood a priority. How do you care more about your appearance than the safety of your children?

It was reported that, “the temperature inside the car reached 102 degrees” and “She said she left the baby, wearing a long fleece outfit, in his car seat.” - yes, I know there were two children - (http://walworthcountytoday.com/news/2009...)
.
I believe the punishment should fit the crime. Put the mother (I cringe at the thought that she is a mother) in a long fleece outfit, in a car seat and in a car where temps reach 102 degrees. Then, leave her there wondering when or if anyone will save her.

Boy, doesn't this just make one feel good about the type of people out there that procreate. It doesn't take brains to breed, obviously.

I never understood tanning booths. Isn't the goal to minimize radiation to reduce the risk of skin cancer? Wait. this is about the baby. Poor baby. Sorry, I forgot.

This probably isn't enough *by itself* for a TPR, Skiddz, being just one incident, but it certainly is for foster care until she can demonstrate appropriate parenting behaviors. Thing is, it may also be enough for prison time. I hope there is someone in the family who can take over.

Some will say what I said is to harsh... Well if its to harsh that obviously means its SCARY enough to make you not want to leave your kid in the car for fear of getting them taken away for life.. Well then arn't you arguing for me by saying that my idea would work then? Thanks :)

She already made it clear that her skin color is more important then the well being of her kid. Take her kid from here for life. Maybe it will send a messege to all those other parents who do the same thing.. Maybe you wont see it happen again.... Take the kid!

If she had money to pay for tanning, she had money to pay for a babysitter.

Take the kid, take the car, & give her a year of house arrest so she'll have time to re-prioritize.
