Monroe tops Edgerton for sectional softball title

Meghan Roberts pitched a one-hitter as Monroe High School's sofball team defeated Edgerton, 3-0, for a WIAA Division 2 sectional championship today at Lake Delton.

Meggie Schmidt's first-inning single was Edgerton's only hit.

While the Crimson Tide's season ended at 22-3, Monroe (19-9) advances to next week's state semifinals at Goodman Diamond in Madison.

Edgerton defeated Lakeside Lutheran, 6-5, and Monroe eliminated Adams-Friendship, 8-3, in the sectional semifinals earlier today.
