Oshkosh Corp. gets $38M in military contracts
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Oshkosh Corp. has received nearly $38 million in military contracts to rebuild war-torn trucks and provide vehicle replacement parts.
The deals were announced Friday by Oshkosh Defense, the military division of the Oshkosh-based company.
A $21 million order from the U.S. Army calls for the repair of about 120 vehicles and trailers. The vehicles are rebuilt in like-new condition, at no more than 75 percent the cost of a new vehicle.
The second deal with the U.S. Marine Corps involves two orders. One is for the repair of as many as 400 military trucks, and is worth more than $9 million. The other is a $7 million order for a restraint system that helps keeps gunners strapped in place.
Oshkosh shares jumped $1.27, or 4.8 percent, to $27.58 in morning trading Friday.

Nobody likes war. My son works there and the refurbished trucks are usually better armored to protect the soldiers better. If the soldiers have to be there lets protect them while they are there.
