Doyle recall effort aborted
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A conservative group that had explored circulating petitions to recall Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle is giving up.
Wisconsin Interests Now announced Friday that it will focus instead on voting Doyle out of office next year should he decide to run again. Doyle has not announced his plans yet, but he's raising money for another run.
The group had launched a Web site and was recruiting volunteers. But the task was daunting. They needed signatures from 540,000 signatures to force a recall vote.

I was going to be a circulator of the petitions, when filed. I can't understand why they quit when they only had one month to go for their own, self-imposed deadline. Its a shame. You are so right..I think we could have done it.

the only reason I heard about it was because I made my political views known on Facebook and they sought me out. They should have gotten the word out a little better, we could have done it. Oh look, I can spell!!! Misterlippy can kiss my conservative, republican butt! (look, even 2 T's)

I hope Doyle does run for Governor again; all the more reason for everyone to show up and vote...this man out of office.

Dump this crooked, loony trainspotting idiot. I didn't know hear anything about this effort when it was underway (funny, eh? -- I suppose the Gazette has been too busy with the 4-H fair foods and entertainment investigative reporting) but I SUPPORT IT 100%!

Roadmaster: 911 center received the tax money. The cell phone customers (me) were overcharged.
911 center isn't getting the extra money.

To misterlippy as a conservative redneck yes I can sign my name. It will just be easier to vote Doyle and the rest of the limp wristed panty waist tax and spend liberals out next time around.

Oh my how terrible, he took the 911 money and used it so cities didn't have to lay off cops and firefighters. It would be so much better if there was no one available to respond to the 911 calls.

He is a thief. He took the 911 tax money from cell phones and redirected the cash without permission. I no longer have, nor want a cell phone. Steal money one time, and I'm done with you! Regardless of the amount.

Could it be because there isn't support for a recall of Doyle? Or is it that the redneck conservatives aren't able to figure how to write, let alone sign their names?

Hard work is no reason to give up! I know Democratic organizations that would have at least that many signatures from visiting half that amount of people!

ACORN could come up with that many signatures in a couple of weeks.
