JANESVILLE--A water main repair Friday, on Center Avenue, will require both northbound lanes of the road, north of Rockport Road and south of Racine Street, to be closed Friday, July 31.

Two-way traffic, however, will be mainted throughout the work zone.

Work will begin Friday morning and should end by mid afternoon.

If you have questions, call the Janesville Water Utility department at (608) 755-3115.

It was always my understanding that the street work (on Academy, Court, etc.) would follow the water-sewer work, and probably start in "July or August". It has only been a couple of weeks at most since I last saw any utility work taking place. But yes, the loose fill in the potholes is almsot completely gone now -- especially dangerous for us two-wheelers.

This problem is all over the place as well as the 4th ward. It wouldn't make any sense to clean up the gravel and blacktop the holes. If the gravel was off the road it would be more difficult to slide through the intersection and kill somebody. What fun is that?
