Wisconsin ranks 10th in child well-being
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report says Wisconsin ranks 10th overall in child well-being, a slight improvement over last year.
The annual Kids Count report tracks how well states perform in 10 key indicators of children health including infant mortality rates, teen birth rates and percent of teens not attending school or working.
Wisconsin was ranked 12th in each of the last two years.
The report shows that Wisconsin has improved in six of the 10 categories tracked between 2000 and either 2006 or 2007 depending on what year the most recent data is available.
The state is doing worse in the percent of low-birth-weight babies, children living in families where no parent has full-time work, children living in poverty and children in single-parent homes.

I wonder what our stats for child obesity are? Seriously....walking anywhere i see kids that gravely obese.
