MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A state plan looking at Wisconsin's long-range transportation needs through the year 2030 will be the subject of public hearings across the state next month.

The state Department of Transportation says the plan provides a vision for highways, local roads, air, water, rail, bicycle, pedestrian and transit. The department says the goal is to identify policies to aid transportation decision-makers when evaluating programs and projects.

The first hearing is Aug. 11 in Milwaukee. Other hearings that month are planned in Madison, Appleton, Stevens Point and Eau Claire.

Public comment will be accepted until Aug. 31.

More details on the plan can be found at www.wiconnections2030.gov.
