MADISON — Some Wisconsin lawmakers say they’re going to research groundwater problems.

State Rep. Spencer Black, a Madison Democrat, and Sen. Mark Miller, a Monona Democrat, lead the Senate and Assembly environmental committees. Black said groundwater levels have dropped in the Fox Valley, southeastern Wisconsin and Dane County.

Black and Miller plan to hold a hearing on Wednesday to listen to experts discuss problems with groundwater safety, quality and levels. Black says the lawmakers want to gather information for potential legislation.
