1 injured in fire at Johnsonville sausage plant
SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. (AP) — Sheboygan County authorities say a small fire at a sausage plant left one person with second-degree burns and prompted the evacuation of all of the building’s 325 employees.
The fire at Johnsonville Sausage was reported Friday about 11 a.m. It was extinguished in about 30 minutes.
Company spokeswoman Christine Wallace says the injured person was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Rupnik says the fire was in the company’s Countryside facility in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. He says no smoke or flames were visible outside the plant.
Wallace says damage appears “minimal” but officials won’t know the full extent until a full investigation is completed.
Wallace says it’s not immediately clear whether employees would be allowed back inside Friday.

I bet when that alarm went off, they had a sausage race that would make the one at Miller Park look like walking in the park.
