MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Scott Walker is reporting that he raised $1.1 million in the first six months of the year for the 2010 governor's race.

That's a significant increase for Walker, who had raised just $413,000 in the last six months of 2008. He didn't officially enter the race until April.

Walker reported Monday that he has just over $1.1 million cash on hand with the Republican primary still 14 months away.

Walker is being challenged by former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann and Appleton businessman Mark Todd. Neumann didn't enter the race until after the close of the current reporting period, which ended June 30.

Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle has not yet said whether he will seek a third term, but since 2007 and through the end of last year he had raised $2.5 million.
