MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court says an official at Camp Randall Stadium can be held liable for the 2003 death of a television cameraman.

The court ruled 4-3 Friday that a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the parents of the late ABC Sports cameraman Richard Umansky can move forward to trial.

Umansky died after falling from a platform while installing a camera before a football game between Wisconsin and Iowa. Justice Patrick Crooks says facilities director Barry Fox neglected his responsibility of complying with state and federal safety rules that required the platform to have a railing.

Dissenting Justice Annette Ziegler says Fox did not have any responsibility for Umansky since he was not a public employee.

Im sorry but I have lost loved ones from 15 years ago and as I may not cry everyday I still dont want to hear jokes about their death situation.
