GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A cold case involving the disappearance of a Green Bay woman nearly 40 years ago has heated up after authorities used DNA testing to identify a body found in an Ohio cornfield. Police said Wednesday the body has been identified as 18-year-old Jeanne Melville, who was reported missing in 1970.

Her body was found in October 1970 in Ohio’s Darke County but an investigation that lasted several months grew cold. Authorities there reopened the case last year, releasing photos of a forensic facial reconstruction.

A Wayne Lakes, Ohio, woman told authorities the photo looked like her missing niece. DNA samples from the woman and relatives helped investigators confirm the body was Melville. Police say the positive identification has led to new leads.

So, if the one that murdered this gal is still alive and has half a brain to feel bad, I'm sure they have been living a crappy life for nearly 40 years with this guilt.

My prayers to the family and friends!

Maybe....the Kelly Hack / Tim Drew murder case of Ixonia can be solved someday too. Someone must know something about that....
